San Diego has its fair share of frightening haunted attractions during the Halloween season. The Scariest Haunted House has been selected based on the experience, production, and overall scare/fear factor. Let the countdown begin…
3. The Disturbance by The Haunted Hotel
This popular haunted location consists of an elaborate built-up labyrinth which creates a temporary indoor structure right next to the Mission Valley Mall. All manner of zombie, ghoul or goblin can be found lurking around every corner ready to scare the life out of you. The haunt runs from October 4th to November 2nd and costs $24.99/ticket (2019). Located in Mission Valley at: 1288 Camino Del Rio N, San Diego, CA. Visit the website here: https://hauntedhotel.com/home/ .
2. The Scream Zone
Boasting to be San Diego’s largest Haunted attraction, the Scream Zone is held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and offers 3 bone chilling experiences, namely The House of Horror, the Haunted Hayride, and the Chamber. Each event offers its unique horrifying setting, and the combination of the three truly earns the Scream Zone name as they evoke screaming throughout the night! The event runs from the last weekend in September through the first weekend of November. More information can be found on the website here: https://thescreamzone.com/ .
1. The Haunted Trail
This is our personal favorite and the scariest haunted house attraction in San Diego. The is something special about a Haunt that transforms a normally pristine family oriented park setting into something much darker. The Haunted Trail takes you through a mile long terrifying path which includes outdoor wooded areas (which are full of evil things), various structures and mazes and even an abandoned school bus. Which one of those dead bodies in the bus is going to reanimate? Just keep moving forward! Weekend admission costs $27.99 or weeknights cost just $24.99 (2019). We can’t wait to see what they have in store for Halloween 2020. Keep in mind that because this is an indoor/outdoor experience, it will close in case of rain.
